Abstract: METHOD FOR PREPARING A MgO/RGO/CDs COMPOSITE POWDER FOR LATENT FINGERPRINT DEVELOPMENT AND DOPAMINE DETECTION A method for preparing a MgO/RGO/CDs composite powder is disclosed. Magnesium nitrate hexahydrate and urea are dissolved in water and combusted at 450 °C, and the combustion product is heated at 450 °C for 2 hours to obtain MgO. Reduced graphene oxide (RGO) is prepared from commercial table sugar without graphite or graphene oxide. Carbon dots are obtained hydrothermally from citric acid and urea at 160 °C for 2 hours, without purification. The MgO, RGO and carbon dot solution are mixed under stirring and sonication, and the mixture is heated at 60 °C for 12 hours to obtain the composite powder. The composite powder shows MgO (200) and graphitic carbon (100) lattice fringes in a single high-resolution transmission electron microscopy image.
