MUMBAI, India, Aug. 17 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641064823 A) filed by Manipal Academy Of Higher Education on May 22, 2026, for Method For Preparing Flexible Nanocomposite Film And A Product Thereof.

Inventors include Salmaan Raza Ansari; Ranjankumarghadai; Zeeshan Mustafa; Soham Das; and G. Shanmugasundar.

The application for the patent was published on August 14, 2026, under issue no. 33/2026.

Abstract: A method for preparing flexible nanocomposite film and a product thereof is provided. The method includes one-step process for simultaneous reduction of graphene oxide and incorporation of silicon, followed by use of resulting material (rGO-Si) as a functional filler in a polyvinyl alcohol matrix to create a free-standing flexible nanocomposite film. The nanocomposite film exhibits improved electrical conductivity, enhanced electrochemical energy storage capability, and superior corrosion resistance compared to conventional polymer composites. The disclosure addresses issues related to filler agglomeration, poor interfacial interaction, and complex multi-step synthesis processes. The disclosed method is simple, scalable, and cost-effective, making the nanocomposite films suitable for applications in electrochemical devices, flexible electronics, and protective coatings.
