Abstract: ABSTRACT METHOD FOR PREPARING SELF-HEALING CONCRETE USING BACTERIA-ENCAPSULATED FLY ASH AGGREGATES The present disclosure provides a method for preparing a self-healing concrete composition comprising preparing a plurality of porous fly ash aggregates (100) by mixing fly ash and cement to form a powder mixture, adding the powder mixture to a rotating pelletizer (110), and applying a binder solution to the powder mixture in the rotating pelletizer (110) to form the plurality of porous fly ash aggregates (100). The method further comprises drying the plurality of porous fly ash aggregates (100), preparing a bacterial solution (200) comprising bacteria, soaking the plurality of porous fly ash aggregates (100) in the bacterial solution (200) to form a plurality of bacteria- encapsulated fly ash aggregates (300), separating the bacteria-encapsulated fly ash aggregates (300) from a remaining portion of the bacterial solution (200), and mixing the bacteria-encapsulated fly ash aggregates (300) with a concrete mixture (400) to form the self-healing concrete composition.
