MUMBAI, India, July 13 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202647082131 A) filed by Dental Manufacturing Unit Gmbh on July 03, 2026, for Method For Producing A Thermoformed Plastic Part.
Inventors include Wrmer-Aigmller, Alfons; and Huber, Martin.
The application for the patent was published on July 10, 2026, under issue no. 28/2026.
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for producing a thermoformed plastic part, specifically a dental splint, based on a plastic semi- finished product, preferably a plastic film, wherein: a model form (2) is supplied, together with the plastic semi-finished product, to a thermoforming device (1); the plastic semi-finished product is pre-heated to a processing temperature; and, in a shaping step, the plastic semi-finished product is pressed onto the model form (2) so that the contours of the model form (2) are transferred to the plastic semi-finished product; after which, in order to demould the shaped plastic part, said plastic part is separated from the model form (2). In order to design such a method so that, despite low production times or cycle times for producing dental splints, scrapping of faulty dental splints is reduced or at best completely prevented, according to the invention: a model form (2) is provided which has at least one fixing attachment (3) projecting from the model form (2); prior to the shaping step, the model form (2) is fixed in its position by clamping the at least one fixing projection (3); and, after demoulding the plastic part, the at least one fixing projection (3) is released again.
