Inventors include B. Deepak; S. Kamalesh; S. Balaji; B. Jeevarishe; Dr. Priyadurairaj; Ms. G. Sindhu; and Dr. M. Sridevi.

The application for the patent was published on October 30, 2026, under issue no. 44/2026.

Abstract: A method (100) for producing an antibacterial soap infused with Sargassum polycystum extract includes collecting and preparing seaweed (102), where collecting and preparing seaweed (102) includes cleaning epiphytes and removing necrotic parts (202), washing with clean water (204), bleaching and sterilizing with a bleaching solution (206), air drying at room temperature (208), and grinding into powder and storing (210). The method (100) further includes extracting bioactive compounds (104) from the seaweed powder using an aqueous-ethanol solvent to obtain a crude bioactive extract, where extracting bioactive compounds (104) includes soaking the seaweed powder in the aqueous-ethanol solvent (302), filtering through filter paper (304), and concentrating the filtrate to obtain the crude bioactive extract (306). The method (100) also includes formulating soap by cold process saponification (106), where formulating soap by cold process saponification (106) includes combining a fatty oil, an alkali, glycerine, water and the crude bioactive extract (402), stirring continuously until a soap paste forms (404) while the saponification is maintained below a defined low temperature without external heating, diluting the soap paste (406), and curing the formulated soap (408). The method (100) further includes evaluating the formulated soap (108). (FIG. 1)
