Abstract: ABSTRACT METHOD FOR RAPID DETECTION OF CANCER-SPECIFIC PROTEIN MARKERS USING A HANDHELD DEVICE Disclosed herein a method (100) for the rapid detection of cancer-specific protein markers, the method comprising collecting a biological sample from a subject. The method further comprising introducing the biological sample to a handheld device comprising a biosensing mechanism for detecting cancer-specific protein markers. Further, utilizing molecular recognition technology within the device to interact with the protein markers present in the biological sample. Further, generating an electronic readout signal from the biosensing mechanism indicating the presence and concentration of the cancer-specific protein markers. Further, interpreting the electronic signal to determine whether the cancer-specific protein markers are present above a predefined threshold and providing a result of the detection on the handheld device for the user.
