Abstract: ABSTRACT METHOD OF CERTIFYING AN ELECTRONIC COMPONENT BY CROSS-MODAL INTERFACE CONSISTENCY TESTING A method of certifying a device under test (150) couples a probe apparatus (100), external to and not permanently affixed to the device under test (150), to hardware interfaces on a common semiconductor substrate (152), including a timing-domain interface (154) measuring a time interval and an amplitude-domain interface (158) measuring a voltage or current level. A defined stimulus is applied to each interface and observables are measured. Enrollment data in a memory (130) comprises per-interface response models of a common-mode operating-state vector and a distribution of consistency residuals. Processing circuitry (128) estimates the vector by inverse- variance-weighted fitting of observables exceeding the vector dimensionality in number, and computes a cross-modal consistency residual as the weighted sum of squared deviations at the estimate. Certification is withheld when the residual exceeds a bound derived from the stored distribution, irrespective of whether each interface individually matches its response model. (Fig. 1)
