MUMBAI, India, Aug. 12 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611071031 A) filed by Indian Institute Of Technology, Roorkee on June 08, 2026, for Method Of Fabricating Aluminium Matrix Composite Sheet.

Inventors include Saini, Dheeraj Kumar; Patel, Ravi; Ranjan, Sudhir; and Jha, Pradeep Kumar.

The application for the patent was published on August 07, 2026, under issue no. 32/2026.

Abstract: Examples of a method (100) of fabricating an aluminium matrix composite sheet are disclosed. In some examples, the method (100) includes melting (102) an aluminium alloy in a furnace to form a molten aluminium alloy. Thereafter, the molten aluminium alloy is cooled (104) to a semi-solid state. Further, ceramic reinforcement particles are preheated (106) prior to incorporation. The preheated ceramic reinforcement particles are introduced (108) into the semi-solid aluminium alloy to form a particle-alloy mixture. The particle-alloy mixture is stirred (110) to form a slurry comprising the aluminium alloy and the ceramic reinforcement particles distributed therein. The slurry is transferred (112) into a tundish positioned upstream of a casting zone, and delivered (114) into the casting zone defined by a gap between a pair of counter-rotating rollers. The slurry is passed (116) through the gap to form the aluminium matrix composite sheet.
