Abstract: Provided is a method of manufacturing an exhaust component (1) to be mounted in a vehicle. The method includes placing the exhaust component (1) in a state in which a coated portion (13, 14) is positioned on a first side of the exhaust component (1), the exhaust component (1) including the coated portion (13, 14) that is a part of an outer surface of the exhaust component (1) to which a coating is applied. The method further includes blowing air from the first side relative to the exhaust component (1) toward the exhaust component (1) that is placed in a state in which the coated portion (13, 14) is positioned on the first side of the exhaust component (1) while suctioning air from a second side relative to the exhaust component (1), and performing localized heating on the coated portion (13, 14) of the exhaust component (1) that has been subjected to the blowing and the suctioning. The second side is opposite to the first side.
