One method includes sending, by a first network node to a second network node, a first data service session configuration request, so the second network node communicates with a data agent (DA) for configuring a data service session tunnel between the second network node and the data agent, wherein the DA is located in the second network node or the DA is located in a third network node; receiving, by the first network node from the second network node, a first data service session configuration response comprising the DA configuration information for establishing a data service session channel between the first network node and the second network node; and processing and transferring, between the first network node and the DA, data service data via at least one data service session channel.
