The application for the patent was published on August 14, 2026, under issue no. 33/2026.

Abstract: METHODS FOR SETTING IP TRANSPORT FOR ETHERNET MA PDU SESSIONS THAT ARE USING MPQUIC-E STEERING FUNCTIONALITY Example embodiments relate to apparatus, systems methods and computer programs relating to setting IP transport for Ethernet MA PDU sessions that are using MPQUIC-E steering functionality based on receiving a request corresponding to an Ethernet MA PDU session type in relation to a UE, where the UE has MPQUIC-E capability. Transmitting, to a second network apparatus, a request message associated with the request including a first indication of a transport type for Ethernet MA PDU Sessions supported by the first network apparatus or a third network apparatus. The second network apparatus determines from the first indication whether the first network apparatus or the third network apparatus supports an IP transport, or supports MPQUIC-E steering functionality, for the said Ethernet MA PDU session in relation to the UE. Receiving, from the second network apparatus and when the first network apparatus or third network apparatus supports said IP transport or MPQUIC steering functionality, a response message including a second indication of the transport resource type being Internet Protocol for said Ethernet MA PDU session. Transmitting, to a RAN associated with the UE when the first network apparatus supports an IP transport or MPQUIC-E steering functionality, a third indication that the PDU session type is IP for said Ethernet MA PDU session of the UE.
