MUMBAI, India, Nov. 2 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611106498 A) filed by Gla University, Mathura on September 03, 2026, for Microbial Seed Coating System And Method For Enhanced Crop Growth.

Inventor includes Dr. Shailesh Kumar Singh.

The application for the patent was published on October 30, 2026, under issue no. 44/2026.

Abstract: The present invention provides a microbial seed coating system and method for enhancing crop growth, comprising a seed (100), inoculant (102), coating compounds (103), adhesive material (104), and a coating layers assembly (106). The inoculant (102) comprises beneficial microorganisms incorporated into a protective coating and applied to the seed (100) by spraying, tumbling, film coating, or pelleting. A coating apparatus comprising a seed feed hopper (139), binder mixing tank (140), rotary coating drum (141), microbial spray nozzles (142), drying air inlet (143), and temperature control (144) enables controlled coating and drying. After sowing, soil moisture activates the microbial coating layer (117), enabling microbial colonization of the root system (128), nutrient mobilization, pathogen suppression, and improved seedling (127) development and crop establishment.
