Abstract: MICROGRANULE-EMBEDDED DISSOLVABLE ORAL THIN FILM STRIPS FOR ORAL REHYDRATION Abstract The invention relates to a microgranule-embedded dissolvable oral thin film strip for oral rehydration. The film comprises a polymer matrix with uniformly dispersed microgranules of sodium chloride, potassium chloride, glucose, and sodium citrate in WHO oral rehydration solution ratios. Each strip measures approximately 3 cm × 3 cm with a thickness not exceeding 1 mm (preferably 700– 1000 µm) and delivers approximately 0.8–1.2 g of electrolytes and glucose, wherein 5–6 strips correspond to approximately 200 mL of WHO ORS equivalent. The strip is configured to disintegrate rapidly in the oral cavity, adapted to provide water independent dosing in alignment with oral rehydration solution equivalence. Variants include single-layer, dual-layer, and triple-layer embodiments with optional flavouring, stabilising agents, and micronutrients for paediatric, geriatric, emergency, athletic, and consumer applications, and are packaged in moisture-resistant pouches, blister packs, or dispensers for stability.
