MUMBAI, India, Nov. 2 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202541039864 A) filed by Bharat Electronics Limited on April 25, 2025, for Mil-Grade Compact Horizontal Helicoil Insertion Tool.
Inventors include Raj Kumar A; Ajith Kumar K A; Pintu Kumar; and Daniyal Tarique.
The application for the patent was published on October 30, 2026, under issue no. 44/2026.
Abstract: ABSTRACT MIL-GRADE COMPACT HORIZONTAL HELICOIL INSERTION TOOL The present invention relates to a novel mil grade Helicoil tool. Usually, Helicoil insertion tools are required to insert Helicoil into threaded hole on soft material like Aluminium. Sufficient space is required to operate the conventional Helicoil insertion tool. So novel mil grade Helicoil tool is designed, to operate in any plane and to insert Helicoil in any direction with limited space. It is designed in such a way that less space is required to operate the new Helicoil insertion tool compared to the conventional Helicoil tool. Along with this, design enables movement of the Helicoil perfectly concentric to the hole and there by no tilting, while inserting the Helicoil. Different aspects like, tension spring for the retraction of the mandrel and locating position for the to identify the hole are included in the design. Complete structure is made in metals for ruggedness of operation.
