The application for the patent was published on July 17, 2026, under issue no. 29/2026.
Abstract: The invention discloses a smart mirror–based emotional monitoring and parental-interaction system designed specifically for children, integrating embedded computer vision, real-time facial emotion recognition, contextual ambient feedback, safety monitoring, portable power management, and a remote parental communication interface. The device incorporates a Raspberry Pi embedded processor, a camera mounted behind a two-way mirror, a PIR motion sensor for presence and inactivity detection, RGB LED illumination for expressing emotional states, a speaker for delivering parent-recorded messages, and an optional display and microphone for two-way video communication. The invention further includes a dedicated power system utilizing a single 3.7V Li-ion battery, TP4056 charging module with protection circuitry, and an MT3608 boost converter providing a stable 5V supply, enabling fully portable and wire-free operation. All emotion1recognition tasks are executed locally using a TensorFlow Lite model, ensuring privacy and eliminating the need for cloud image processing. The system activates only when PIR detects presence to conserve power and logs emotional states, inactivity events, and alerts, while synchronizing information with a mobile application. Upon detecting sadness, fear, anxiety, or prolonged inactivity, the system produces soothing visual or audio feedback, sends alerts to a parent's mobile device, or enables a secure video call. The invention provides a comprehensive emotional-support, monitoring, and parental-interaction ecosystem for children.
