Abstract: The present invention relates to a modified DC-DC boost converter employing a soft-switching technique based on zero voltage switching (ZVS) for improving efficiency and reducing switching losses. The proposed converter comprises a 300 main power stage including a main inductor, a semiconductor switch, an output diode, and an output capacitor, along with an auxiliary circuit having an auxiliary inductor and an auxiliary diode. The auxiliary circuit is configured to create a zero voltage condition across the main switch during turn-on, thereby minimizing switching losses and reducing voltage stress on the switch. Further, the auxiliary 305 inductor is adapted to store energy during operation and transfer the stored energy to the load through the auxiliary diode, thereby preventing energy dissipation and enhancing overall efficiency. The proposed converter provides improved performance, reduced stress, and higher efficiency compared to conventional hard-switched boost converters.
