Abstract: Abstract: The above-mentioned methodology suggests developing a modular, microcontroller-powered industrial controller as a solution to address the issues of reliability and cost associated with PLCs. The architecture comprises hardware modules for digital inputs, digital outputs, analog inputs, and analogue outputs, respectively, with a common backplane connecting them. The system centres on the STM32F103C8T6, which uses I²C as the primary bus for inter-module communication, SPI for the real-time OLED display, and UART to communicate with the ESP32 web server. Data exchange for each module uses a byte-by-byte approach, where digital states are combined into one byte and analogue values are split between MSB and LSB bytes to minimize potential errors during I²C communication. In addition, the controller uses two separate buses for inputs and outputs to prevent errors and improve reliability. The proposed system receives input data from the modules, processes it within the central controller, manages output data from the modules, provides real-time data presentation on the local OLED screen, and transfers relevant parameters via Wi-Fi connection. The testing performed with prototypes confirmed proper functioning of digital channels and reliable analog data acquisition and processing.
