Abstract: ABSTRACT MODULAR DUAL ULTRASONIC SENSOR BASED 360-DEGREE RADAR SYSTEM FOR UAV OBSTACLE DETECTION The present invention discloses a modular dual ultrasonic sensor based 360-degree radar system (100) for real-time obstacle detection and visualization, designed as a detachable external payload for unmanned aerial vehicles. The system (100) comprises ESP32 microcontroller (110), dual ultrasonic sensing assembly (120) having first sensor (120a) and second sensor (120b) oppositely mounted at 180 degrees on a servo motor assembly (130), an OLED display module (150), and a visualization module (160). The diametrically opposite placement of the two sensors enables 360-degree environmental scanning through 180-degree mechanical servo sweep. The ESP32 microcontroller (110) controls servo rotation, triggers both sensors, computes distances from time-of-flight measurements, and transmits data for real-time visualization onboard of OLED display and radar interface. A modular mounting assembly (170) enables platform-independent deployment across multiple UAV configurations without internal modifications. The system achieves low-cost, lightweight, and reliable obstacle detection for UAV navigation, surveillance, and environmental mapping applications. [
