MUMBAI, India, July 24 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611063244 A) filed by Nims University Rajasthan, Jaipur on May 19, 2026, for Modular Facade System For Carbon Dioxide Capture And Conversion.
Inventors include Dr. R. Sanjeevi; Dr. J. Anuradha; B Gyani Priyanka Patnaik; and Dr. Rajendra Jena.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a system (100) for modular photocatalytic CO2 capture and conversion facade. The system comprises a photocatalytic nanocomposite surface layer (102a) disposed as an outermost layer and an air intake and diffusion microchannel network (102b) configured to deliver ambient air to the photocatalytic layer at a controlled residence time. A bio-mineralization layer (102c) positioned below the photocatalytic layer and a mineral ion reservoir (102d) with controlled infusion layer (102e) disposed within the bio-mineralization layer. Moreover, the system comprises an integrated power unit (104) positioned adjacent to the facade panel and a structural panel frame (106) holding all internal layers. An electrochemical reaction layer (108) further comprises a thermal energy exchange channel (108a), a self-regenerative nanocoating layer (108b) disposed over the photocatalytic layer and an integrated control module (108c) to execute a local inference model for real-time operational control of the facade system.
