Abstract: ABSTRACT Title: MODULAR FLOW ACCELERATORS FOR PERFORMANCE 5 ENHANCEMENT OF SAVONIUS VERTICAL AXIS WIND TURBINES 10 15 This invention relates to a modular flow accelerators for performance enhancement of savonius vertical axis wind turbines. It typically includes a Savonius Rotor Blades (1), a Central Shaft (2), a Shaft Connector (3), a Modular Flow Accelerator (MFA) Frame (4), a Flow Deflector Vanes (5), a Deflector Support Rods (6), a Clearance Gap (7), a Base Plate (8), a Fasteners (9), and an Incoming Wind Direction (10). This system enhances Savonius turbine performance by passively redirecting and accelerating airflow to boost torque while minimizing negative drag, providing a compact, modular, and maintenance-free solution for low-wind environments. The system is primarily utilized for enhancing energy capture in decentralized small-scale power generation, including urban rooftop installations, off-grid systems, and low-speed wind environments where self-starting, space-efficient, and omni-directional operation is essential.
