MUMBAI, India, Aug. 17 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202621068199 A) filed by Mrs. Kamlesh Gupta; Rajesh Gupta; and Aniket Gupta on May 31, 2026, for Modular Platform With Variable Buoyancy And Passive Hydrodynamic Damping.

Inventors include Mrs. Kamlesh Gupta; Rajesh Gupta; and Aniket Gupta.

The application for the patent was published on August 14, 2026, under issue no. 33/2026.

Abstract: A submerged hydrodynamic platform (100) is disclosed, comprising a primary structural body (100) defining an internal volume (102) and a hydrodynamic flow control arrangement configured to permit fluid exchange between the internal volume (102) and a surrounding fluid medium, the arrangement comprising at least one fluid communication opening formed through the outer structural shell (101).. At least one buoyancy element (104) is positioned in an upper region (103)of the primary structural body (100) such that a center of buoyancy is maintained above a center of gravity, thereby providing passive self-righting stability. The internal volume (102) is configured to admit and retain an entrained fluid mass to generate hydrodynamic damping and increased effective inertia increased effective inertia that attenuate oscillatory motion induced by external excitation. The platform (100) may further comprise a central vertical conduit (500) having a top orifice (108) and a bottom orifice (109), and a depending cylindrical extension (400) with a ballast arrangement (301). The invention enables stable subsea deployment with enhanced damping, controlled buoyancy behavior, and improved hydrodynamic performance without active control systems. Ref. Fig. 1
