Abstract: The invention relates to a modular system for producing an electronics unit (10), having: a housing part (12) that comprises a first side wall (26) and a second side wall (28) and a top side (30) connecting the side walls (26, 28); a group of circuit boards (14), the circuit boards (14) being equipped with different electrical connection means (16); and a group of separate side parts (18, 20), the side parts (18, 20) each comprising different recesses (38) corresponding to the different electrical connection means (16). Provided between the first side wall (26) and the second side wall (28) is a receiving space (32) for receiving at least one circuit board (14) from the group of circuit boards (14). At least one circuit board (14) from the group of circuit boards (14) is selectively insertable into the receiving space (32), and in each case one corresponding side part (18, 20) from the group of separate side parts (18, 20) is connectable to the housing part (12) such that the first side wall (26) and the second side wall (28) together with the side part (18, 20) form a continuous housing wall, and the connection means (16) arranged on the circuit board (14) is accessible via the recess (38) in the side part (18, 20). The invention also relates to a method for producing an electronics unit (10).
