Abstract: The present disclosure provides a mounting mechanism. The mounting mechanism is further comprised of a magnet magnetically engaged with a pin, the pin configured to penetrate into a wall or other structure. The pin is surrounded by a spring that retains the magnet, the spring positioning and stabilizing the pin within the cavity. In a preferred embodiment, the mounting mechanism is substantially positioned within a cavity of an object such as a shelving unit. In another embodiment a spear pin is provided, the spear pin comprised of threaded end and a winged end terminating in a tip at an opposed end of the threaded end.
