Abstract: ABSTRACT The mouth mirror is an essential diagnostic and operative instrument in dentistry, primarily used for indirect vision, illumination, and soft tissue retraction. Conventional mouth mirrors, however, lack integrated moisture control, necessitating the use ot separate cotton roll holders or manual placement.of .cotton_rolls. This results inJncr.easedJns.tr.ument.handling, workflow_interr.up.tion,__ . and reduced clinical efficiency. Existing cotton roll holders are often unstable, non-adjustable, and require additional assistance. The present invention addresses these limitations by introducing a mouth mirror with an opposite-side adjustable cotton roll holder incorporating a spring lock mechanism. The instrument consists of a mirror head at one end of an elongated handle and an adjustable cotton roll holder at the opposite end. The cotton roll holder is designed with opposing arms capable of accommodating cotton rolls of varying sizes, while the spring lock mechanism ensures secure retention and easy adjustability. This integrated design allows simultaneous visualization, soft tissue retraction, and moisture control using a single instrument. The invention reduces instrument exchange, improves ergonomics, enhances procedural efficiency, and increases patient comfort. The instrument is fabricated from medical-grade stainless steel, is autoclavable, reusable, and suitable for routine clinical use across various dental specialties.
