Abstract: The present invention discloses a mucoadhesive controlled-release gel formulation for the treatment of oral ulcers through localized sustained therapeutic delivery. The formulation comprises lidocaine (1) configured to provide localized analgesic action, standardized Myrtus communis extract (2) configured to provide anti-inflammatory and wound-healing therapeutic support, mucoadhesive polymers (3) for prolonged adhesion to oral mucosal tissues, and a controlled-release gel matrix (4) for sustained delivery of active ingredients. The formulation is designed to remain localized at the oral ulcer site, thereby preventing rapid washout associated with conventional topical oral formulations. The integrated composition provides simultaneous pain relief, inflammation control, and accelerated healing while reducing frequent application requirements and minimizing systemic exposure. The invention offers a safe, effective, prolonged, and patient-friendly therapeutic solution for oral ulcer management with improved treatment compliance and enhanced therapeutic efficacy.
