Abstract: ABSTRACT MULTI-FACTOR HELMET INTERLOCK SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR A TWO-WHEELED VEHICLE A helmet interlock system for a two- wheeled vehicle includes a helmet module (102) mounted in a helmet (100) and a vehicle module (200). The helmet module (102) includes a strap-closure sensor (106) at a chin-strap buckle, an independent capacitive head-presence sensor (116), and a first short-range wireless transceiver (122). The vehicle module (200) includes a microcontroller (202), a second short-range wireless transceiver (204), and an ignition-enable switching element (206) coupled to an ignition circuit (208). The vehicle module (200) authenticates the helmet module (102) through a challenge-response exchange over a short-range wireless link (230) and enables the ignition-enable switching element (206) upon a verified wear condition. A controller (104) computes a rider-wear confidence score from strap-closure and head-presence signals, and indicates the verified wear condition upon the score remaining at or above a defined threshold for a continuous verification interval.
