Abstract: In this invention, we present a Multi-Layer Home Access Control System that uses a camera module, motion sensors, and AI-based authentication to provide smart and keyless security for homes and buildings. The system verifies the identity of a person at the door through face recognition using OpenCV, along with a liveness detection module that ensures the person is physically present and not just holding up a photo. If the face does not match, an OTP is sent to the owner's phone as a second level of verification, and a backup PIN is available for situations where internet access is not possible. Any repeated failed attempts automatically trigger an alarm, capture an image of the person, and send an instant alert to the owner. All access events are recorded in a database with timestamps and images, which the owner can review through a simple web dashboard built on Flask. The combination of Al-based software and IoT hardware including Raspberry Pi or ESP32, motorised door lock, buzzer, and keypad makes this system a reliable, intelligent, and complete security solution that is far more effective than traditional lock and key systems.
