Abstract: A wearable hand orthosis for persons with upper limb motor impairment is disclosed. The orthosis comprises a forearm-mounted actuator assembly housing four servo motors, each dedicated to an individual finger through independent nylon tendon channels; modular individually replaceable finger-assistance members; a passive elastic recovery mechanism; and an electronic control unit. Six dynamically selectable user-control interfaces are provided: switch, joystick, mobile application, voice command — employing MFCC-based audio feature extraction and keyword recognition — foot pedal, and IMU gesture-control, with dynamic switching between interfaces without hardware reconfiguration. Structural components are fabricated from PETG by FDM additive manufacturing. The orthosis is powered by a portable 10,000 mAh rechargeable power bank. The invention provides a lightweight, modular, cost-effective wearable platform serving dual functions as a rehabilitation and daily living assistive device.
