Abstract: Multi-shot triggering system for generating high energy THz electron beam A multi-shot triggering system for generating multi-shot/repetitive electron beam with the help of a triggering system has been presented in this invention. The high energy electron beam is produced by initiating a gas discharge inside the hollow cathode (HC). The gas is directly transported into the hollow cathode (HC) with input gas line configuration to maintain a uniform pressure throughout the hollow cathode (HC) region. A series of high-voltage vacuum ceramic insulators has also been installed to isolate the gas line from the power supply. The hollow cathode (HC), multi-gap assembly comprising of floating anodes and insulators and anode are held together inside a vacuum break. Further, the position of the gun collector test module has been optimized to achieve maximum current for the THz generation. The repetitive electron beam can be used for various strategic and non-destructive testing applications.
