Abstract: The present invention relates to a computer-implemented multimodal emotion-adaptive artificial intelligence therapy system configured to provide culturally adaptive and privacy-preserving therapeutic interaction. The system integrates facial micro-expression analysis, device interaction dynamics, and vocal affect recognition to determine emotional states in real time. Facial Action Units, grip pressure proxies, keystroke cadence variations, inertial tremor characteristics, and vocal prosodic features are processed through a transformer-based multimodal fusion architecture to generate an Emotion State Vector and calibrated confidence values. A culture- profiled communication policy selector adapts therapeutic responses according to directness, formality, and emotional expressiveness preferences associated with different cultural frameworks. A confidence-and-delay adaptation governor prevents abrupt persona switching by enforcing confidence thresholds, hysteresis, and temporal adaptation delays. The invention further performs substantially all emotional inference operations locally on the user device with immediate disposal of raw biometric data, thereby improving privacy, emotional recognition accuracy, conversational stability, and therapeutic engagement in digital mental healthcare systems.
