MUMBAI, India, Nov. 2 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611110392 A) filed by Chandigarh University on September 14, 2026, for Multimodal Wearable Muscle Assessment System With Deformable Coupling And Metamaterial Sensing.

Inventor includes Rajwant Kaur.

The application for the patent was published on October 30, 2026, under issue no. 44/2026.

Abstract: A wearable multimodal muscle assessment system includes a deformable muscle-coupling interface (102), an optical displacement sensing unit (103), a differential metamaterial resonant sensing unit (105) having an active resonator and a reference resonator, an acoustic or ultrasonic sensing unit (106), and a flexible strain or circumference sensing unit (107). The sensing units interrogate deformation and structural response of a selected muscle region and are synchronously acquired using a common timing reference. An embedded processor performs subject-specific calibration, temporal alignment, signal conditioning, cross-modal consistency analysis, and multimodal fusion to generate a Muscle Mechanical Fingerprint. The fingerprint can include displacement, deformation, resonance shift, muscle thickness, dimensional change, and contraction-related temporal characteristics. The processed measurements can be used to derive muscle quantity-related and strength-related parameters and a Muscle Quality Index.
