MUMBAI, India, Nov. 2 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641125112 A) filed by Indian Institute Of Technology, Hyderabad on October 20, 2026, for Multiplexed Avionics Apparatus And Method For Mil-Std 1553b Remote-Terminal Emulation.
Inventors include Narasimhulu Pillutla; and Shishir Kumar.
The application for the patent was published on October 30, 2026, under issue no. 44/2026.
Abstract: An avionics subsystem simulator apparatus (100) includes a field-programmable gate array (112) coupled to a processor (110) and implementing a bus node (102) for a MIL-STD-1553B bus (106). The bus node (102) includes a shared dual-redundant MIL-STD-1553B transceiver (104), multiple remote terminal controller instances, and decoding-and-multiplexing logic (118) configured to decode a remote terminal address from a received bus command and route the bus command to a matching remote terminal controller instance. The processor (110) assigns distinct remote terminal addresses to enabled remote terminal controller instances, writes configuration data to associated configuration and status storage regions (114), and loads simulated subsystem data to associated message-data storage regions (116). The selected remote terminal controller instance services the routed bus command using the associated storage regions and transmits a reply via the shared transceiver, thereby advancing multi-terminal MIL-STD-1553B emulation through a single physical bus interface resource.
