MUMBAI, India, Aug. 12 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641064232 A) filed by Jubin J Kurichiyil; Antony N P; and Varsha Paul on May 21, 2026, for Nano Silica Enriched Multi-Nutrient Foliar Formulation Derived From Rice Husk Ash With Amino Acid–fortified Micro And Macro Nutrients.
Inventors include Jubin J Kurichiyil; Antony N P; and Varsha Paul.
The application for the patent was published on August 07, 2026, under issue no. 32/2026.
Abstract: The present invention discloses a cost-effective agricultural silica spray formulated from potassium-activated rice husk ash for enhancing plant growth, nutrient uptake, and stress resistance. The raw material, silica-rich rice husk ash containing more than 85% silica, is collected from high-temperature rice mill boiler furnaces operating above 900°C. The ash is sieved and subjected to thermal-alkaline activation using potassium hydroxide under controlled conditions at approximately 121°C and 15 bar pressure for a duration of five hours. The treated mixture is then allowed to undergo sedimentation for 48 hours, followed by filtration to obtain a clear, silica-enriched solution. [0003] The resulting extract is analysed for quality parameters and subsequently fortified with water-soluble nutrients, including chelated micro and macro elements, along with amino acids to improve plant metabolism and foliar absorption. The final formulation is designed for foliar application and is diluted at a ratio of 0.5 mL per litre of water prior to use. [0004] The formulation enhances plant vigour, strengthens structural integrity, and improves resistance to biotic and abiotic stresses, making it highly suitable for sustainable agricultural practices.
