Abstract: ABSTRACT The present invention relates to a nanoencapsulated Tulsi extract formulation for prevention and treatment of respiratory disorders. The invention comprises standardized Ocimum sanctum extract encapsulated within biodegradable nanocarriers to improve pulmonary bioavailability, stability, sustained release, and therapeutic efficacy. The formulation exhibits significant anti- inflammatory, antioxidant, antimicrobial, bronchodilatory, and immunomodulatory activities useful in asthma, bronchitis, COPD, allergic rhinitis, and respiratory infections. The nanoformulation may be administered through inhalational, nebulized, nasal, pulmonary, or oral routes. Experimental studies demonstrated enhanced respiratory protection, reduced airway inflammation, improved lung histopathology, and prolonged therapeutic action compared to conventional herbal extracts. The invention provides a safe, effective, and targeted herbal nanotherapeutic system for respiratory disease management.
