MUMBAI, India, Oct. 5 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202541028414 A) filed by Tamil Nadu Agricultural University on March 26, 2025, for Nanoformulation Of Impdh Inhibitors For The Management Of Citrus Greening Disease And Preparation Method Thereof.

Abstract: The present invention provides a formulation of Bronopol encapsulated in nanospheres of a cationic polymer system along with a crosslinking agent as a long-term strategy for the management of devastating citrus greening disease. The formulation is promising and efficient in treating citrus greening disease by directly targeting the symbiotic gram negative bacterial pathogen Candidatus Liberibacter asiaticus CLas at the vascular system of the plant. The formulation is provided as spray formulation comprising 1% Bronopol encapsulated in nanospheres of 1% chitosan along with 0.4 % of TPP- Sodium tri polyphosphate.
