Abstract: The present invention relates to a nanoformulation system designed for the effective management of purple leaf blotch in onion crops, a significant agricultural challenge caused by the pathogen Alternaria porri. The system comprises a plurality of nanoparticles encapsulating fungicidal agents, where the nanoparticles are composed of biocompatible materials such as silica, chitosan, and lipids. These nanoparticles are synthesized using sol-gel methods, ionic gelation, or lipid-based self- assembly techniques, ensuring stability, solubility, and bioavailability of the fungicidal agents. A controlled release mechanism is integrated within the nanoparticles, responsive to environmental conditions like pH or moisture levels, to ensure the release of fungicidal agents only when needed. Additionally, a precision targeting mechanism is employed through surface modifications of the nanoparticles, enhancing their affinity for plant tissues or the pathogen. This system combats Alternaria porri through multiple actions and activates the plant's immune defenses.
