MUMBAI, India, July 13 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611046096 A) filed by Panjab University; and Indian Institute Of Technology Ropar on April 10, 2026, for Nanohybrid Zinc Oxide Quantum Dots, Process Of Preparation And Use Thereof.
Inventors include Prof. Rajeev Kumar; Prof. Narinder Singh; Mr. Gautam Madhok; Mr. Arun Sharma; and Mr. Pankaj Chopra.
The application for the patent was published on July 10, 2026, under issue no. 28/2026.
Abstract: The present invention relates to a hybrid nanostructure comprising: (a) a zinc oxide (ZnO) quantum dot core; and (b) an organic ligand shell comprising a plurality of organic ligands, wherein organic ligand shell is coated around the zinc oxide (ZnO) quantum dot core and each organic ligand comprises a plurality of functional groups capable of multipoint binding to the surface of zinc oxide (ZnO) quantum dot core to form a stable core-shell architecture. The invention also discloses a method for preparing nanostructure. The resulting hybrid nanostructure exhibits enhanced photoluminescence intensity, improved colloidal stability, and tunable emission properties. The nanostructure is useful in applications such as fluorescence-based sensing and optoelectronic devices.
