Abstract: A nanoparticle synthesis microreactor for organic light emitting diode phosphor optimization is disclosed. Precursor streams are combined in a micromixer whose mixing time is short compared with the nucleation time, establishing uniform supersaturation and burst nucleation in place of the variable transients of flask hot injection. The reacting liquid is divided by an immiscible gas or liquid carrier into discrete segments, each travelling as an isolated microreactor of identical residence time with internal recirculation, the carrier shielding the channel wall so that fouling is suppressed and the residence time distribution narrowed. Independently temperature-controlled nucleation, growth, and shelling zones separate the reaction stages, with downstream injection points for distributed shell precursor addition. In- line optical stations acquire emission and absorption spectra in situ, from which peak wavelength, spectral width, and quantum yield indication are derived in real time for closed-loop correction and for automated Bayesian optimization campaigns, and production scales by numbering-up without reformulation.
