Abstract: A non-invasive thermal imaging system (100) for quantitative longitudinal monitoring of oral pre-malignant disorders comprises a portable infrared thermal imaging camera (101) integrated with a radiometric sensor to acquire thermal images of oral and facial tissue from a plurality of standardized views, a processing unit (102) connects to the camera (101) to extract per-pixel temperature data from raw sensor data, compute a thermal gradient magnitude, and generate a quantitative thermal profile, a comparison module (103) coupled to the processing unit (102) compares feature vectors and thermal profiles from successive patient visits to determine tissue condition changes over time and a processing unit (102) to segment frontal views into anatomically defined zones and compute bilateral asymmetry.
