The application for the patent was published on June 19, 2026, under issue no. 25/2026.
Abstract: The injectable cubosome-based delivery system for the management of Age-Related Macular Degeneration (AMD) encapsulating Rosuvastatin was successfully prepared using top-down method with lipid-soluble emulsifier and a hydrophilic non-ionic surfactant resulting in promising yields and characterized (particle size, zeta potential, drug loading, and in vitro release). Preliminary ocular compatibility and sustained release behaviour were demonstrated in in vitro model and via Hen’s Egg Test on Chorioallantoic Membrane test. The incorporation of lipid-soluble emulsifier, with lipid composition helps in sustained release and enhanced stability properties and also helps in ease of drug penetration through skin. Subsequently, the non-ionic amphiphilic copolymer, helps in the stabilization of the cubosomes.
