MUMBAI, India, Aug. 17 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611080490 A) filed by Dr. Bhanu Dadhich; and Mr. Ajay Tiwari on June 30, 2026, for Novel Nano Engineered Next Generation Pharmaceutical Formulation Of Cephalexin, Neomycin Sulphate, And Prednisolone Targeted And Sustained Drug Delivery.
Inventors include Dr. Bhanu Dadhich; and Mr. Ajay Tiwari.
The application for the patent was published on August 14, 2026, under issue no. 33/2026.
Abstract: The present invention relates to a novel nano-engineered pharmaceutical formulation comprising Cephalexin or its pharmaceutically acceptable salt, Neomycin Sulphate, and Prednisolone or its pharmaceutically acceptable derivative, designed to enhance antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory efficacy through targeted and sustained drug delivery. The formulation employs nanotechnology-based carrier systems, including polymeric nanoparticles, liposomes, solid lipid nanoparticles, or nanoemulsions, to improve bioavailability, tissue penetration, and therapeutic performance. It further encompasses optimized compositions and controlled manufacturing processes such as nanoprecipitation, homogenization, and liposomal encapsulation to achieve uniform nanoscale dispersion, enhanced stability, and controlled release characteristics with reduced systemic toxicity. In a preferred embodiment, the formulation is developed as a veterinary intramammary infusion for the treatment of mastitis in dairy animals, providing broad-spectrum antimicrobial action against Gram-positive and Gramnegative pathogens along with anti-inflammatory effects to reduce edema and facilitate drug distribution within mammary tissue. The composition is presented as a stable non-aqueous suspension or semi-solid system with optimized viscosity for improved retention and therapeutic efficacy, enabling synergistic action and reduced treatment duration.
