Abstract: Novel Portable Ultraviolet Light-Based Sterilising Kit for Dental Scaler Handpieces. ABSTRACT The present invention relates to a portable ultraviolet light-based sterilising kit for dental scaler handpieces intended for chairside and mobile dental applications. The device comprises a compact enclosed housing containing UV -C light sources positioned to provide uniform irradiation of the scaler handpiece surface. A dedicated holder secures the handpiece within the chamber, while an electronic control unit regulates exposure time. The system operates using a rechargeable battery or USB power supply, enabling portability. Safety features such as an enclosed chamber and interlock mechanism prevent accidental ultraviolet exposure. The invention provides rapid, chemical-free sterilisation, reduces cross-infection risk, and improves clinical efficiency in dental practice.
