MUMBAI, India, Aug. 12 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202541009009 A) filed by Vinayaka Missions Kirupananda Variyar Engineering on February 04, 2025, for Novel Ursolic Acid-Carboxamide Derivatives With Anti-Cancer Activity And Preparation Method Thereof.
Inventors include Dr. V. Thailan; and Dr. S. Gnana Vel.
The application for the patent was published on August 07, 2026, under issue no. 32/2026.
Abstract: The present invention relates synthesis of novel Ursolic acid derivatives, which are Ursolic acid carboxamide of 4-(morpholine-4-sulfonyl)aniline, Ursolic acid carboxamide of 4-(4- methylpiperazine-1-sulfonyl)aniline and Ursolic acid carboxamide of 4-(2,3-dihydro-JH-indole- 1-sulfonyl)aniline. In the pentacyclic triterpenoid ursolic acid (3 ~-hydroxy-urs-12-en-28-oic acid) the structure modification will be done on carboxylic acid at position C-28 at rings. The resulting synthesized compounds are confirmed by NMR, LC-MS and FT-IR. Al.l the Proposed Ursolic acid derivatives are going to test against MCF-7 breast cancer cells to determine their anti-cancer activity.
