Abstract: Provided are dual modality nucleic acid barcodes that include a programmed identifiable signature and sequence signature allowing for real time identification of the barcodes to be linked with downstream analysis by linking the identifiable signature with the sequence signature. Also provided are methods of making said barcodes, libraries of said barcodes and libraries of supports attached to said barcodes. Further provided are uses and methods of using said barcodes.
