Abstract: Abstract: Nutraceutical Khakhra formulation containing Insulin-Like Protein sourced from Costus igneus for blood glucose management. The present invention aims at formulating a nutraceutical Khakhra, aiming blood glucose management in diabetic patients, in natural way. The formulation is a combination of four different plants lead by Costus igneus, which is commonly called as insulin plant. The peptides and phytochemicals in the C. igneus are long proven to be beneficial, the current formulation is driven by the presence of Insulin-like Protein (ILP) which has been scientifically studied for its presence in C. igneus along with different studies to establish its potency in glucose uptake at cellular level. The formulation includes Dry leaves of Costus igneus, Trigonella foenum-graecum, Dry seeds of Trachyspermum ammi and dry root powder of Curcuma longa L. The formulation has been studied for glucose uptake, alpha-amylase inhibition, presence of phytochemicals and proteins. The Khakhra has been found stable up to 45 days against any microbial contamination. The sensory analysis has been received good hence the product is regarded as acceptable.
