Abstract: The present invention relates to the field of low-voltage electrical appliances, in particular to an operating mechanism and to a rotary disconnect switch comprising the operating mechanism. The operating mechanism comprises: a mechanism support; a connecting rod structure; a driving shaft structure and a rotating shaft which are respectively and rotatably arranged on the mechanism support; and a transmission structure. The driving shaft structure is in transmission connection with the connecting rod structure by means of the transmission structure; the connecting rod structure is in transmission connection with the rotating shaft, so as to drive the rotating shaft to rotate in a reciprocating manner; the rotating shaft is in transmission connection with a support shaft for bearing a movable contact, so as to drive the support shaft to rotate in a reciprocating manner; and the connecting rod structure comprises a fastener structure, which has a fastened state and a released state. The operating mechanism further comprises a transmission rod, wherein the rotating shaft and the support shaft are both rotatably arranged around an axis, two ends of the transmission rod are respectively connected to the rotating shaft and the support shaft, and the transmission rod is positioned on one side of the axis and is arranged parallel to the axis. The operating mechanism and the rotary disconnect switch have a simple structure and good reliability.
