MUMBAI, India, July 24 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611065832 A) filed by Sharda University on May 25, 2026, for Optimized Germination-Based Method For Producing Nutritionally Enhanced Mango Kernel Flour.

Inventors include Satwika Banerjee; Zoobiya Islam; and Mayuri Rastogi.

The application for the patent was published on July 17, 2026, under issue no. 29/2026.

Abstract: ABSTRACT Disclosed herein is an optimized germination-based method (100) for producing nutritionally enhanced mango kernel flour, comprising collecting mango kernels obtained as a by-product from mango processing operations, selecting mature, healthy and undamaged mango kernels and removing the outer hard shell to obtain mango kernel cotyledons, cleaning the deshelled mango kernel cotyledons with potable water to remove impurities, soaking the cleaned mango kernel cotyledons in purified water under controlled conditions for hydration, draining excess water from the soaked kernels and transferring the hydrated kernels into a controlled germination environment, monitoring the germination process periodically and terminating germination upon achieving desired enzymatic activation and sprouting level, drying the germinated mango kernels using controlled drying conditions, milling the dried germinated mango kernels using a grinding mechanism to obtain a fine powder form, sieving the milled powder to obtain uniform particle size distribution and improved consistency, collecting final product as germinated mango kernel flour.
