MUMBAI, India, June 26 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641052331 A) filed by Nandha Engineering College on April 24, 2026, for Optimizing Cloud Resource Management: A Support Vector Machine Approach For Virtual Machine Scheduling.
Inventors include S. Shantha Kumar; R. Amanvishwakarma; R, Dhivyadharshini; T. Kamaleshwaran; and C. Pandiyan.
The application for the patent was published on June 19, 2026, under issue no. 25/2026.
Abstract: ABSTRACT OF THE INVENTION The present invention relates to an intelligent cloud resource management system that utilizes a Support Vector Machine (SVM) for scheduling tasks on virtual machines in a cloud computing environment. The system collects task information and transfer time, computes Minimum Execution Time (MET), Earliest Start Time (EST), and Earliest Finish Time (EFT), and further refines them into Modified Execution Time (XET), Latest Finish Time (LET), and Modified MET. These parameters are used as inputs to an SVM model trained to predict the most suitable virtual machine type for each task. Based on the prediction, tasks are allocated to appropriate virtual machines, thereby reducing execution time, improving workload balance, and enhancing overall resource utilization and Quality of Service (QoS
