Abstract: A partial-power-processing converter system for wireless electric vehicle charging is disclosed. A wireless receiver supplies rectified power to a direct-current bus connected to a rechargeable battery through an H-bridge converter. The H-bridge includes four controllable semiconductor switches, a partial-energy-storage capacitor coupled across its alternating-current terminals and an inductive element in a battery-current path. A controller determines a partial-voltage reference from a difference between the direct- current-bus voltage and a battery-side voltage, regulates the capacitor voltage and charging current, and generates coordinated duty- sum and duty-difference commands for the H-bridge legs. A substantial portion of the charging power is conveyed through a direct power path, while only differential power is actively processed through the converter. The system supports constant-current and constant-voltage charging, interleaved operation, pre-charging and fault protection, thereby reducing converter rating, semiconductor voltage stress, thermal loading and power-conversion losses.
