The application for the patent was published on October 30, 2026, under issue no. 44/2026.

Abstract: A passive water-quality detection bottle cap includes a bottle cap housing (101), a semi- permeable membrane (105), a removable indicator cartridge (103) carrying a chemical indicator strip (104), and a transparent viewing window (102). Dissolved constituents in water permeate toward the chemical indicator strip (104), where a chemical reaction produces a visible color change corresponding to a water-quality condition. The transparent viewing window (102) permits the user to observe the indicator response while the indicator cartridge (103) remains in the bottle cap housing (101). The arrangement operates without an electronic sensor, battery or external power source and the indicator cartridge (103) can be removed and replaced when the chemical indicator strip (104) expires. The passive bottle-cap arrangement provides portable visual water-quality indication and can accommodate one or more indicator strips for different water-quality conditions.
